Multiple assignments in the three functional companies, Exploration, Development and Production, ensure the breadth and needed depth of experience for success. Opportunities may be available in data management, exploration and production mapping, and technical support.

The Geotech New Hire Program typically involves a number of rotational assignments in the first 2 years coupled with an extensive training curriculum. The focus in the rotational assignments is to build a basic, working knowledge of the applications used in oil and gas exploration/production, and learn data acquisition, data management, and analysis techniques. ExxonMobil provides both formal and on-the-job training in subsurface mapping techniques, data integration, and analysis in various geoscience and Geographical Information System (GIS) applications. The focus in the specialized geotechnical support assignments is to build skills to an expert level in areas such as formation evaluation, seismic data acquisition design and quality control, seismic processing, seismic applications, biostratigraphy, 3D visualization, gravity and magnetics, and reserves reporting.

Degree required – Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geophysics, or Geography
