Job Description As a member of ExxonMobil Development Companys (EMDC) Drilling technical organization, the Wellhead and Tree Engineering Specialist will work in a multi-disciplinary team of technical experts. The wellhead and Tree Engineering Specialist will provide global consulting to drilling engineers and field operations. Work scope will generally focus on critical service applications, technology application, equipment problems and personnel development.
Typical Job Responsibilities:
* Participate in equipment selection for various development projects
* Work with industry contractors to evaluate, qualify, manufacture install and repair equipment
* Provide leadership in resolving complex technical issues
* Maintain and build organization's in-depth knowledge of equipment technology and company standards
* Coordinate equipment technology with the Production Company, Subsea Systems Engineering and Procurement
* Assist drill teams in identifying and applying new technology and conducting failure analysis
* Mentor and develop Drilling organization
* Participate in Industry Standards Organizations and Conferences
* Requires 5-10% domestic and international travel
Skills And Competencies:
* Comprehensive understanding of surface and subsea wellhead and tree equipment design and Installation Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)
* Knowledge of competing and alternative technologies, products and applications
* Knowledge of material selection, seal design, fatigue analysis and HPHT equipment design
* Must be conversant in industry standard practices and specifications for surface and subsea equipment
* Knowledge of surface and subsea operations
* Effective verbal and written communication skills (e.g. technical reports and technical presentations)
* Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization on technical topics
* Leader and self starter, takes the initiative in developing and applying technical solutions and resolving technical issues
