Job Description The Senior Process Design Engineer, as part of the Project Development section, serves as a technical leader for the preparation of design specifications. The Senior Process Design Engineer will be located in Beaumont, TX and will support the development of capital projects at the manufacturing sites in the Beaumont Area, including, the Beaumont Chemical Plant, the Beaumont Refinery, and the Beaumont Polyethylene Plant. The Senior Process Design Engineer works under the day to day direction of the Process Design Group Lead, and administratively reports to the Project Development Section Supervisor.
Primary Job Functions:
* Develops multiple design specifications for a variety of process technologies in refining and petrochemical applications
* Organizes and leads cross functional teams to collaboratively develop design specifications
* Applies approved design practices, work processes, and design tools
* Mentors and trains less experienced engineers
* Effectively applies the project system (EMCAPS) in the development of project deliverables
* Provides process design support to base plant safety reviews (e.g., Hazops and Risk Assessments)
Job Requirements:
* B.S. in Chemical Engineering
* Demonstrated commitment to safety
* Proven leadership, with or without formal authority
* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
* Expertise in process design (refining and/or petrochemical required)
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in the use of computers and process design software / simulation packages
* Possesses excellent administrative and organizational competencies
* Proven ability to manage short deadlines
