Job Description ExxonMobil is seeking high-quality experienced geophysicists for Geophysical Processing positions described below. The positions are primarily based in Houston, Texas, with worldwide travel expected.
General Criteria/Qualifications
* Required:
* Work experience relevant to the position being sought
* Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
* Established record of implementing/executing new or novel geophysical techniques and processes
* Excellent teamwork skills within integrated project teams to find the best solutions to geophysical imaging and applications problems with a diverse and sometimes distant workforce (virtual teams)
* Excellent communication skills and understanding of the latest industry technology
* Excellent presentation skills, including preparing and presenting information to company executives, technical management and peers in the same or related areas of work via informal or formal technical presentations
* Established record of working independently
* Preferred:
* MS or PhD degree in related field of study
* Flexibility to accept short term rotations and/or long term deployments to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide
Geophysical Processing - Specific Criteria/Qualifications/Duties
* Experience required:
* 2D and 3D seismic processing covering a range of geophysical environments
* Integration of diverse geophysical and geologic data to generate high quality seismic interpretation volumes and associated data sets
* Experience desired:
* Wide Azimuth, 4D seismic processing
* Familiarity with Omega2, Seismic Unix, ProMax, Matlab, Geoframe software
* Duties include:
* Processing marine, OBC and land seismic data including in-house processing using ExxonMobil proprietary algorithms
* Providing technical oversight/QC of contractor processing to ensure technical quality of ExxonMobil projects
* Working with interpretation teams to define project objectives and to design and execute seismic processing data flows that meet those objectives
* Working with the seismic acquisition group to optimize survey designs that meet technical and business drivers
* Optimizing data conditioning/signal enhancement, velocity model building and seismic imaging sequences throughout the project lifecycle
* Managing projects, ensuring project budgets and timelines are met
* Managing contracts, including participation in the procurement process and subsequent verification and validation of delivered productsExxonMobil is an Equal Opportunity Employer
